About Us
The Scovaud Grenadier Battalion is a regiment that was formed 12 of December 2012 by a group of players that were members of a North and South regiment. The 8th Mississippi Infantry. Deciding that North and South was no longer for us. The SGB then disbanded in March of 2013. The regiment has now been reformed with almost only original members. The SGB fields a wide variety of people with varying levels of skill and age. Most people in the regiment have close to or over 1,000 hours played. Making us an experienced group of players. The SGB focuses a lot on discipline and having fun. After all if you aren't having fun there is no point in playing. This being said we do things with the idea of "if its going to be done, do it properly" This means that during line battles and trainings we have strict rules in effect. This leads to a high standard of player in the regiment.
We have a nice diverse player group, our members come from all over Europe. We have a lot of Scandinavian, Dutch and English players. The Dutchies congregate, it's scary. We have no recruitment requirements. Age is not an issue as long as you are mature and you know what you are doing. No previous experience is required but it's always a bonus.
Our regiment has developed a nice community within it. There is almost always someone sitting on teamspeak and playing something. So feel free to swing by if want to have a test line battle or if you just want to play something.
A Bit O' History
Austrian grenadier battalions were named after their commanding officer. Each one was raised as required. There is a whole list of Grenadier battalions coming from different parts of the empire. Each with unique uniform representing where they came from. Grenadiers had existed in the Empire's army for a long time. Serving as the best of the best. With height and service requirements each grenadier battalion was a force to be reckoned with. Although the uniforms changed over time. The values remained the same large strong men to act as shock troops. Serving the Empire from start to finish the Grenadiers earned their reputation.
